Summer Work and Travel 2025

Summer Work and Travel is a major component of the J1 Visa category. 

The J1 Visa programme is administered as BridgeUSA under the US Department of States. Under BridgeUSA, it's purpose is promoted as a Cultural Exchange Programme. 

Students who are attending an accredited tertiary institution and pursuing a full time two year course. For example, diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, masters degree.

Students from around the world participates in the J1 BridgeUSA, Summer Work and Travel programme year round. The students' get to participate in the programme during their major school academic break. Jamaican students, however, participates in the programme between May 5th to September 7th of each year. Students are expected to return to their home country for their first day of school.

Students applying with IWTS company Limited must have a:

1: valid passport

2. valid student status letter

3. Valid school Identification card

All students MUST maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 

The BridgeUSA, Cultural Exchange programme offers a number of benefits to the participants.

1: The student will get a valid J1 work visa

2. The student gets to visit new places and learn more about the United States people, food and culture etc.

3 The participants will get a USA work permit, Ds Form 2019.

4. The participants will get to open  US bank account. 

5. The participants will get a Social Security Number

Programme Fee: US$1,600                                                                                                                          

Registration Fee: JM$2,500                                                 Programme deposit required: US$500.00

Total programme fee deadline: April 17, 2025

This included the non-refundable registration fee of JM$2,500.
